Framing An Icon Photo Exhibit

A Visual Exploration of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal 2

The Press Photographers of the Philippines-Cebu (PPP-Cebu), in partnership with Cebu Association of Communication Education (CACE) and GMR-MEGAWIDE Cebu Airport Corporation and the Mactan Cebu International Airport will be holding a photo exhibit showcasing the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) photojournalism class  top 100 photographs set this coming September 15- 21, 2019 at the Upper ground of the Mountain Wing ( Across Yakimix) of SM Seaside City Cebu.


The photo exhibit theme is “Framing an Icon: A Visual Exploration of Mactan-Cebu International  Airport Terminal 2.”

It will officially open on Sept 15 at 11:00 am. 

Here are some of the photos which were taken by the USJR photojournalism students displayed at the Department of Journalism and Communication during the judging of the top 100 photos for the Photo Exhibit

The said photo exhibit showcases the winning photographs of the USJR photojournalism student who participated in the  Photo contest inside the Mactan-Cebu International  Airport Terminal 2 last Aug. 24-25, 2019. The officers and members of the PPP-Cebu mentored these aspiring photojournalist.


Close to 300 photographs were submitted and one hundred photographs were picked as finalists and became part of the photo exhibit. During the opening day of the photo exhibit, the 20  top finalists will be announced and then the top three winners. The mentors of the three winners will also be receiving an award.  

The objective of this event is not only to showcase the world-class International Airport Cebu has but as well as to encourage and inspire these students to become future visual journalists through the side by side Photowalk experience with the experienced photographers and photojournalists. 

This is also one of the pre-events for the upcoming National Photojournalism Congress set this November 2019 hosted by PPP- Luzon. 

Beginning her career as a Photojournalist at The Freeman Newspaper/Philippine Star from 2000 to 2007, she then served as an Accounts Manager from 2007 to 2008. Driven by a passion for sports, she transitioned to a Sportswriter role at CDN and expanded into news writing for Inquirer Visayas. From 2010 to 2015, she honed her skills as a Sportswriter at Sunstar Cebu, after which she took the initiative to launch her own website-Zoominglife.com
