Toyota Motor Philippines Debuts Hybrid Electric Vehicle Lineup in Cebu

Toyota Motor Philippines unveiled its range of hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) at the Get Electrified event held on April 19 at Ayala Center Cebu. Led by Vice President Elvin Luciano for Marketing Services, the company showcased its diverse selection of HEVs, spanning sedans, crossovers, and SUVs.

A highlight of the event was the introduction of the latest addition to Toyota’s HEV lineup, the Corolla Cross, which was recently launched in Manila and is now available in Cebu. Alongside the Corolla Cross, attendees had the opportunity to explore other HEV options such as the Camry, Altis, and RAV4.

Distinctive to Toyota’s HEVs is the incorporation of an electric battery alongside the conventional engine, allowing for automatic switching between gas and electric power based on driving conditions. This innovation significantly extends fuel efficiency, enabling a maximum range of 27 kilometers per liter of gasoline.

Luciano emphasized the versatility of Toyota’s electric hybrid technology, suitable for both urban commutes and challenging terrains. He also highlighted the substantial fuel savings achievable with HEVs.

In alignment with Toyota’s commitment to sustainability, Luciano underscored the importance of widespread adoption of electric vehicles in reducing carbon emissions.
