Philam Vitality Kicks Off the 2nd Kampeon Cup in Cebu

Exciting football action awaits the Cebu football community as the 7’s Football League brings the second AIA Philam Vitality Kampeons Cup from March 13, 14 and 15, 2020.

The Kampeons Cup will be held at the artificial football turf of the Dynamic Herb-Borromeo Sports Complex located along the Cebu South Coastal Road of the South Road Properties, marking the first time that the pitch will be used since it started construction about two years ago.

“Cebu is a very strong city for football in the country. Nobody knows much about football in the provinces so we want to highlight the talent outside Manila. Plus, they won the last Kampeons Cup so it’s well deserved,” said 7’s Football League founder Anton Edward Del Rosario, when asked why Cebu.

Del Rosario was in town to attend the press launching of the Kampeons Cup  on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Leylam  Deluxe Store in Ayala.

He was joined by Central Visayas Football Association (CVFA) board member Guy Ceniza; AIA Philam Life’s Bernadette Chincuanco, head of Brand and Communications and Kats Cajucom, head of Philam Vitality; and Dynamic Herb Sports Incorporated’s Astrid Erasga.

Leylam had clinched the inaugural Kampeons Cup title held in Manila July last year.

And, they will be defending the title against fellow Cebu team, the Cebu Niños which is the CVFA selection, and the all-star teams of Manila, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Davao.

A whooping P50,000 in cash will also await the champion.

“The Kampeons is an All Star team to represent not only each 7’s League but also the city. We want the players to represent the football communities of where they’re from. It’s more than just playing football, these players are representing where they are from. I want to establish who is really the home of football in the country,” added Del Rosario.
