Lapu-Lapu City mayor Chan issued Executive Order (EO) 2020-048C

Lapu-Lapu City mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan issued Executive Order (EO) 2020-048C , to institute additional measures for stricter border control within the territorial jurisdiction of Lapu-Lapu City.

As to those exempted from the EO, they present whichever is necessary, their identification card to prove that they are employees, frontliners and members of skeletal force; certificate of work schedule and medical documents.

Private individuals and private companies who are exempted must also present similar relevant documents, earlier stated, and/or certificate to travel or delivery permit, special permit, market pass or permit from the mayor.

List of exempted personnel or companies:

  • Medical workers: doctors nurses and hospital workers
  • Emergency workers like BFP and rescue vehicles
  • Government vehicles
  • Government officials
  • Members of tri-media
  • Government employees
  • PNP, Military and force multipliers
  • Patients who will undergo treatment or check-up
  • Delivery vehicles of essential goods
  • Company-hired vehicles, to bring in and bring employees home, of business allowed to operate
  • Private and personal vehicles of employees of companies allowed to operate at this time
  • Vehicles assigned by the City to ferry community residents
  • Market vendors of the City’s market on wheels
  • Funeral cars
  •  Bank vehicles, armored vehicles and personal cars of bank personnel
  • Other persons or business allowed by the City to travel

Mayor urged everyone to secure their certificate to travel from the City or  through on-line processing in the City’s online portal www.lapulapucity.gov.ph/exemptionrequest  

Mayor Ahong also ordered the police, military, and other force multipliers as border guards to strictly enforce Executive Order (EO) 2020-048C in controlling the city’s borders.

1    Border guards should strictly inspect all incoming vehicles and drivers must explain why they should be allowed to enter. Authorities should also check if the vehicle and its cargoes are included in the EO.

2    They should also check if the vehicle is delivering any of the essential goods, as mentioned in the EO. They should check the driver’s documents and inspect the cargoes.

3    They should strictly enforce social distancing, as only two passengers are allowed, and must sit in the passenger section.

Mayor Ahong further orders Lapu-Lapu city residents working outside the City, to temporarily stay in a place near their workplace.

“Ang galastuhan sa iyang pagpuyo kinahanglan sagubangon sa kompanya nga iyang gitrabahuan,” Mayor Ahong said.

Also Olango residents working here in the mainland are no longer allowed to go home to the island.

“Ang ilahang kompaniya maoy mosagubang sa galastophan sa ilang temporaryong pagpuyo dinhi sa mainland,” mayor said. PIO
