JUMP10 PH Selection Set on July 19

FIVE teams from Cebu have shown interest in the Jump10 Philippines Selection tournament slated this coming July 19-20, 2019 at the Capitol Parish Gym.

The tournament is hosted by APX sports. It is a Cebu-based company that aims to provide a proper platform for the athletes to develop their full potential and turn them into world-class athletes.

“We’ve invited the team owners nationwide to join the tournament but we will release the final list once the teams have fully committed,” Pat Maluya said of APX Sports.

Maluya added that it’s an open format tournament wherein professional basketball players, former professional, varsity players and amateurs can join. They are expecting a total of 12 teams that will be joining.

“The purpose for us limiting the teams and the number of players per team (7-8) is for the teams to bolster their rosters since the champion team will represent the country in Shanghai for the Jump10 World Hoops Challenge,” said Maluya.

Aside from representing the country in the prestigious tournament, the champion team will be taking home P100,000 worth of cash prize.

The Jump10 World Hoops Challenge was founded in 2016 which is considered as the one and only world-class pro-amateur basketball tournament in Asia.

It was last March that the worldwide selection series started, taking place in 12 cities in China, 11 countries in Europe, North America and the Asia Pacific areas. The winner of each country will represent their nation to compete in the 2019 JUMP10 World Hoops Challenge Tournament in Shanghai, China.
