7-Eleven Run 2020 adds relay category to spice up this year’s race

The 7-Eleven Run Series, now on its eighth installment and third simultaneous event, expects to have 9,000 participants for the Cebu Leg, which will be held at Cebu Business Park on February 02, 2020.

Cebu, Davao, and Manila are the cities that will host the simultaneous run. The fun run will kick off with the 42K category at 11 p.m on February 1 and will wrap up at the Cebu Business Park on February 2.

Race director Joel Juarez said the event will use the same route of last year. The long distance categories will have two loops.

The newly added 42K and 21K relay will be composed of four members each team. The runners will divide the distance.


The other change was the addition of the 1K category. This distance is designated for kids and newbie runners.

The other categories of the annual race are the 42K-individual, 32K, 21K-individual, 16K, 10K-individual, 10K buddy, 5K-individual, 5K buddy, 3K, and 1K.

According to the organizers, the annual race will shell out a total of P2 million worth of cash prizes for the winners.

The top three overall runners in the 42K, 21K and 16K will be chosen to be part of the 7-Eleven team that will be sent to an international race in Asia.

In the past three years, the runners were sent to Thailand, Vietnam, and Korea.
