Architecture students are invited to join a two-day workshop on community design and bamboo construction set for February 21 and 22, 2020 at the social hall of Barangay Sunog in the southwest town of Balamban in Cebu.

Seed4com in partnership with Evolve PH and Bukid-MPC is initiating the workshop with the goal of building a community center for local farmers in Mt. Manunggal, which is situated in Baranggay Magsaysay in Balamban.

According to Seed4com founder Dann Diez, this workshop is also conducted in partnership with the local cooperative to build their community center and villas using bamboo.

“We will plant and grow native bamboo and train local farmers on bamboo crafts and source of supply for bamboo architecture,” said Diez.

He added that they need local partners and donors to help in this project.

“This is our first phase to design and build. To also develop the Mt. Manunggal Park in partnership with local farmers,” said Diez.

Aside from architecture students, also invited to attend the workshop are those interested to learn about bamboo construction.
