The University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters delivered a commanding performance in the CESAFI Season 25 collegiate basketball tournament, securing a 71–62 victory over the UP Fighting Maroons on Tuesday, November 18, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Ricofer Sordilla, 22 years old and a third-year BSHM student, once again showcased his consistency and leadership on the court. He earned his third Best Player of the Game award after posting 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals—an all-around effort that kept UC steady on both offense and defense.

“First of all, I thank God for giving us this victory. To my teammates, I’m grateful because without them, I wouldn’t have been chosen as Best Player. And to the coaches, especially Coach Kern, thank you for trusting me and giving me this opportunity,” Sordilla said.

He added that he did not expect to be named Best Player of the Game, saying his focus was simply on executing the system designed by head coach Atty. Kernn Atilano Sesante.

The win was more than just redemption for UC—it solidified the Webmasters’ dominance this season. The team improved its record to 8–1, strengthening its position among the league leaders and reinforcing its reputation as one of the squads to watch in CESAFI Season 25.

The game highlighted UC’s balanced scoring, defensive discipline, and composure under pressure, which allowed them to withstand UP’s attempts at a late-game comeback.

With momentum building and confidence high, the UC Webmasters continue to make a strong case for the top spot in the standings.
